About Habanero

Habanero is the creation of husband-and-wife team Griffith David, a native of India, and Elizabeth Bowden-David, a native of the US. Together they spent years in the American southwest, soaking up the region’s cheerful culture and the flavors of Mexican border cuisine. Bangalore residents for the last six years, Griffith and Elizabeth understand the high-energy, fun atmosphere and authentic tastes that residents and travelers are looking for.

Bangalore’s first authentic Tex-Mex restaurant, Habanero features hearty vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare. Over the years Texan and Mexican cuisines melded together into what’s now called Tex-Mex. At Habanero, we feature all three: classic Mexican foods, Tex-Mex creations, and Texas-influenced American items. Our menu features nachos, burritos, quesadillas, and burgers, as well as grilled chicken breasts, fish, and tenderloin. Classic drinks such as margaritas and sangria go perfectly with the cuisine. Sweet endings to the meal range from the distinctively Mexican tres leches cake, the American-style cheesecake with caramel topping.

A warm, welcoming atmosphere, Habanero is a vibrant spot to kick back and relax with friends and family. With flat-screen TVs and a performance area, it is also an ideal place to gather to watch a sporting event or to enjoy live music. Its proximity to company offices also makes it perfect for business meals and celebratory gatherings.

With a background in Business Management, our Founder and CEO, Griffith David, directs the marketing & external affairs of the business in addition to an active role in operations, franchise operations, menu development and overall quality control. Griffith has over 15 years of corporate experience in the United States, Singapore, and Finland with top-tier organizations such as Intel, Yahoo, and iGATE and holds a Master's in International Management from Thunderbird.
Elizabeth Bowden David brings to the table a Master's in International Management from Thunderbird, a decade in Marketing with leading multinationals, and a lifelong experience of preparing great food. With roots in the American Deep South, and having lived, studied, and worked in Mexico and seven other countries, Elizabeth has developed an intrinsic sensitivity to the market demands of travelers, expatriates, and adventurous foodies. A experienced Marketing professional who executes citywide events and promotional campaigns from conceptual planning to post-feedback analysis in order to enhance new and regular customer experiences at our restaurants.
Our Chief Operating Officer, Dan Durkin has over 15 years background in delivering top dining experiences across Asia. A native of the Southwestern US, who has done his fair share of travel across Mexico, Dan is intimately familiar with the nuances of the foodways of Mexico. A trained chef with a background that includes working with top US chefs, running multiple concepts in Singapore like Brewerkz & Cafe Iguana, and as F&B Director of Asia’s top members club. Dan has also consulted on concepts from Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. Living in Bangalore now; Dan is excited to share the vibrancy and fun of Mexican cuisine in a laid back, casual atmosphere with India and the world.
